  1. Close file without closing Hindenburg

It would be nice to be able to close a session without having to Exit from Hindenburg.

Most similar programs let you do that.

    Thanks!

  2. Coloured boxes

    Hi Hindenburg,

I'd love a feature where I could change the default blue colour to red or green or whatever, depending on my editing process.

When editing, I have to use a separate notepad with time markings to say what needs to be changed. But I'd love to be able to highlight the audio boxes with different colours (red for re-record narration, green for adjusting P-pops, yellow for audio quotes that need to be verified by an independent source etc). This is how I run my email software - different colours for different types of emails/work. This is super handy…

  3. 'Sticky' markers

Just a quick note. In early edits of an interview I always plant markers for different segments of the interview.

But in the second sweep of edits I will often rearrange the interview entirely- or open gaps up to slot other speakers into the sames section.

It's very easy to move big chunks of audio clips with the 'Select to End' shortcut. But the markers remain behind- and I have to try and recognise by eye where to replant them.

Could there be some way to make the markers 'sticky' so that they attach to a particular clip or group…

  4. Shortcut to apply crossfade at cut point.

I think a shortcut to apply a crossfade at the most recent cut point would be a huge timesaver. This feature would be useful, for example, in the scenario where a breath (or something) has been removed and the parts of the split track have then been realigned--a quick add crossfade shortcut without needing to highlight the desired region would be awesome. Thanks!

  5. Ability to lock chapter markers to audio

I edit my podcast episodes using chapter markers. Sometimes I record an intro after editing (for example, because I want it to reflect the content in the finished episode), which I of course want to put at the beginning of the episode.

In this situation, I wish there was an easy way to move the chapter markers along with the audio. Now, I have to first move all the audio, then move each chapter marker the correct amount.

  6. Add peak hold bar to recording level indicator

When adjusting the recording level I miss a peak hold bar that makes it easier to read the indicator and estimate headroom.

  7. Preserve Timestamps

When Hindenburg copies audio files to the project directory it modifies their timestamp, even if the files are not being re-coded. I would prefer Hindenburg to preserve the "created" time stamp of the original file, so I could delete the original file and still know, when the recording was made.

  9. Marker usable in record for marking errors when reading

When you are reading you sometimes make mistakes but want to stay in the text and continue reading and edit later. Now I am using a sound signal 'bipp' to mark mistakes which is to be cut out. This makes the reading much more efficient and I can read f.ex a chapter in one go and edit the text afterwards. I would like one 'button' (M for eksample) that I easily can press while in record to mark the mistake.

I have tried to create a marker ... but haven't been able to get it to work.

    best regards christin…

  10. Update for Field Recorder

Are there any Updates planned for the Field Recorder (bigger Display at iPhone 6 plus)? It will be also interesting, if the Field Recorder would probably change to an full audio editor for the new iPad Pro.
I'm a very satisfied user with Hindenburg Journalist at the Mac. Thank You!

  11. Menu button to shrink or expand timeline to show full project.

Add a menu button to show full project in the timeline. Beats having to repeatedly click the 'Out -' button.

  12. Exporting all tracks dry

I would love to have an option for one-button exporting. I use Hindenburg for editing and like to do my mastering in a different program, so having the possibility to export all tracks in one go would be lovely. (Extra points for having the option to disable all channel effects during the export.)

  14. Ability to hide tracks from the workspace and mixer window

Ever since Avid's move to a subscription based ownership model I've been trying out DAWs to take over from ProTools. I do a lot of work producing radio programs so Hindenburg caught my interest. I just downloaded the Trial and am pretty impressed with Hindenburg's easy interface. I figured out most things in a few clicks and only had to look up a couple of things... BUT here are a couple ideas that would make my life easier.
    1) the ability to hide tracks. I like to use a Master channel for my metering and limiting plug-ins. But once I've…

  15. Audio-to-Text-Transcription

Imagine your audio quotes being transcribed into text automatically. I was impressed to see how the start up Detour does that
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1evmLntTT20#action=share

This would be great for Hindenburg.

  17. Add the option to publish to Spreaker.com

Spreaker is a great platform for on demand recordings and live shows, it would be great to be able to publish directly

  18. Export all markers as text file

    Dear Hindenburg staff,

many thanks for your great product. I often use it while putting together pieces for German public radio.

I have a very simple request. Would it be possible to make all markers exportable as text files, not just the chapter markers?

I often use markers for notetaking. I know that you can find them in the nhsx-File, so I'm wondering how difficult it would be to export them directly in the software.

Reaper, for example, can export its marker list as both txt and csv. Basically, at the moment, I listen to my recordings in Reaper, and…

  19. Add the exact time point where the track was cut for clipboard

    Hi,

I'm currently running into a serious issue because I'm working with two distinct audio tracks that go hand in hand (an interview). I'm torn between just editing from the track or organizing everything into the clipboard first. The issue with the latter is I don't know how to sync my clips up later, especially when there's interjection. Currently, all the clipboard does is show how long the clip is (which isn't really important) instead of at what time the clip was cut (for example, 45 seconds). If I had that, I would know exactly how to put the puzzle…
